Anxiety, obsessions and admitting ignorance

My wife has gone back to work, and as I type this, my heir hangs from my chest asleep in a canvas strapped “egg sack”. I dare not move him for fear he will awaken and be wrathful. So I suppose now would be as good a time as any to write my weekly blog.

I *had* a video blog prepared for last week, but it was so filled with anxiety and apologies, that I didn’t finish it. You guys don’t always need to hear the litany of fears that build up in my brain like barnacles on the hull of a ship. As a matter of fact, it’s probably best that you don’t. These anxieties have lived in my brain since forever and to expose so many at once to the public might rob me of mystery, or the illusion of dignity. Regardless, I have a better video blog for you this week all about secret notes, or human scrawlings. Both, actually. It’s one of my favorite topics and I don’t know if the video captures my obsession with it, but I hope so. I also have an obsession with strange and exotic fruits. If it looks like it could be purchased at a market in Farscape, I’m totally enamored, but that’s another video blog entirely.

I’m going to have to do some things that I’ve been putting off for a while. These things include re-learning how movie making equipment works, as well as learning all new skills I’ve never before considered. There is a part of me that thinks I should have just went to film school instead of studying theatre, if only for knowledge of video and sound. Regardless, I’m going to be putting myself through some uncomfortable situations in order to learn. Chief among them is admitting my ignorance.

I’m adding some changes to the Walker’s Talkers format because I want to try something different, and hopefully turn the little placeholder show into something a bit more fun to watch. Seeing as how I’m on the ass-end of the video blog pyramid, there’s no competing with the people who invented it, so I might as well just do whatever I want with it. As to whether it will still remain a weekly show, I’m not sure, but I still want to continue with it in some capacity. Victorian Cut-out Theatre is moving along slowly but surely. However, I think that these new episodes will be the funniest and most polished yet.

I should also tell you that I’m writing with more frequency for Nerd Reactor. I don’t know if I’ll ever get back to the twice or more a week schedule again, but you can definitely see more writing from me on their site.

PROJECT SELFIE pictures aren’t coming in super quickly, but they are coming in. Therefore, I am extending the completion date past January. Please tell your friends about this project and let them know to send me their pic.

Well I should probably warm some milk before my tiny golem wakes. He will no doubt emerge from the dream country famished and be expecting tribute.

Stay tuned.
