Blog Dump! October 2nd edition!

It has been a little while since I updated the blog, even though my work continues to get released online. It’s nice to have machinations turning even while I’m not appearing in front of the curtain as often as I used to. Thank you to those contributing to my Patreon, you have the greatest patience and I will reward you for it soon, I promise.

The fundraiser for The Go West Film Festival has completed, which is a weight off my mind and schedule. It was a great success and I look forward to the actual festival in November. You can read the list of films we will be screening HERE. I’ve created some bumper work for the festival which some of you will get to see live and am putting the finishing touches on the short I’ll be screening as we speak. You can also hear me speak about and lead a discussion on the final film in the "Dollars Trilogy" The Good, the Bad and the Ugly on November 8th at 12 PM. I would love to see you there.

Victorian Cut-out Theatre is chugging right along and this upcoming episode is one of my favorites. I think people will enjoy it, given the trashcan fire this election season has been. I’m also particularly happy with the character design on this one. Look for Victorian Cut-out Theatre: The Election the 15th of this month (October). It also serves as this month’s Halloween episode. Trust me, it’ll make sense when you see it.

Also, if you find yourself in the Greeley, Colorado area on October 14th, you can watch the horror radio anthology I’ve been working on. The House of Shadows is an outgrowth of the reader's theatre I helped put together at the beginning of this past summer. My sister and I have been working on it for months and I’m really proud of how it’s shaped up so far. We have a great cast and a wonderful musical guest. It’s going to be a lot of fun. Check it out HERE.. I’m really looking forward to seeing how everyone reacts to it. It includes some of my favorite things: vampires, witches and demonic pay phones. Expect to hear more about this as the date approaches.

In other non-artistic related news…
My son is now speaking regularly and we can understand about 50-60 percent of what he says. This means that my wife and I have to pear our swearing down to the essentials and get creative when need be. His love for books in profound and I often find him reading one of his own books or shoving a library book in my face to read. This makes me insanely happy because some people never grow up having a love for reading which is intensely heart-breaking. Hopefully he can keep that flame alive. Reading to him has also rekindled my interest in children’s literature. I have always been a fan of picture books, I had a collection of them before we even had children. But now I get to see how these books are enjoyed by a child. Trying to direct what makes one book over another has been fascinating for me.

Anyway, I would love to do another halloween daily list this year, but I’m afraid my schedule won’t allow it. If you like, you can look back at my previous entries from October’s past. You canexpect to see some horror based blogs, just not every day.

I hope you all are having a wonderful autumn so far. Keep checking in.

Take care,

-Rob
