The Goon has been on comic stands for close to 15 years now. This comic, which mixes film noir and monsters, is a lynch pin of Dark Horse and their line of horror comics. In 2010 a trailer for a proposed film version of the comic was released. However, it wasn't until 2012 that a Kickstarter campaign asked fans for money to help really get the project off the ground, citing everything up until that point funded out of the pockets of creator Eric Powell, Producer David Fincher, and Blur Studios. This proof of concept short is a perfect translation of the comic down to tone and design. The voice talents of Paul Giamatti and Clancy Brown are the perfect cherry on top.
When The Goon catches a zombie out behind the bar eating alley cats, he leaves the corpse with Frankie to watch while he searches for its nefarious origins. It would be fair to say that Frankie takes advantage of the situation.
