Follow your bliss...

"When you follow your bliss... doors will open where you would not have thought there would be doors; and where there wouldn't be a door for anyone else."

-Joseph Campbell

So...

Cigarette Burn Pictures has evolved over the years. We've gone from doing some fairly ambitious short films, some experimental fare, local screenings and film competitions.

Since then, we've moved into online entertainment and web series, as well as articles, musings and essays. We've assisted in film productions of friends and colleagues. These experiences have given us a wider understanding of film/video production and narrative storytelling.

Now we've been offered some new opportunities. As well as the above, you can now see our Animated Monologues under the title of Wonder-Boy, screened on a bi-weekly basis at the Lyric Cinema Cafe in Fort Collins, CO. We are also in the midst of preparing for two short films to be produced in correlation with the UNC Theatre Department (my Alma Mater). These films will be cast in the spring of next year, drawing from the strong and brilliant pool of talent of UNC students, and will begin principal photography in March.

The goal of this endeavor is to give students practical film experience for the future as well as provide them with something they can add to their reels upon graduation. Another benefit to this endeavor is that these shorts are to be completed in time for The UNC Student Showcase in May and will likely find their way to Los Angeles, California. We look forward to working on this project with the University of Northern Colorado and it's many talented performers and staff.

Another exciting opportunity that has recently come to light, is The Animated Monologue, I Studied Shakespeare... has recently been chosen as an official selection of the Philadelphia Film and Animation Festival. I couldn't be more thrilled about this as I am an immense supporter of PFAF and their wonderful staff. We were fortunate enough to be invited last year and Stephanie, Matt and their crew couldn't have been more supportive and helpful. It is truly an honor to be featured among such talented company. I can't wait!

So CBP is moving forward, and we couldn't be more excited. We feel very fortunate to have such grand opportunities and partnerships arise and we thank our family, friends and fans for their constant support. Keep checking back, please tell your friends. Wish us luck!

Thank you,

Rob
