Horror Movie Matters: Intermission

Horror Movie Matters: Intermission

I have an entire folder on my computer, completely devoted to promos, ads and bumpers for shows, commercials and networks. Some of the videos in my collection are current and some are for products that don’t exist anymore. This collection does border on obsession, but in my collecting/curating, I discover some real gems that many don’t know about. I will likely do an entire blog entry about this collection someday soon, but for now, I wanted to share just a few of them with you. I thought we’d take a little break from the Horror Movie Matters reviews and look at some other neat things that might get us in the mood for Halloween.

Mockingbird Lane: I’ve been excited about this Munsters reimagining since I heard Bryan Fuller (Pushing Daisies) was involved. Initially conceived as a television series, but now only a television movie, Mockingbird Lane, follows the Munster family, a band of monsters trying to pass for human in the suburbs. Give this trailer a look and see if it doesn’t look like fun.

4 More Shining Promo: To promote a week of Stanley Kubrick’s films, British Channel 4 commissioned this promotional video behind the scenes of The Shining. This promo features lookalike actors and sets and gives us peak at what working on the film may have been like.

Follow the Sun Intermission This video was created by design team MK12 for the FITC design and technology conference. This team did a wonderful job blending well known, vintage movie images and then making these same images horrifying . This video truly is one of my favorites and has a very David Lynch-like quality.

Well that’s it for our intermission. I hope that you're enjoying the Horror Movie Matters blog as tomorrow we’ll continue down the road of horror movie history with A Nightmare on Elm Street 1984, directed by Wes Craven.
