Screenings, Casting, Working and Gettin' Paid

The Oscar Shorts Screenings at UNC went really well. It's so much more fun to be invited to do things, when compared with inviting yourself. When someone asks you if they could screen your work, it means that they have a respect for your abilities and it also means that you're not asking/begging someone to screen at their establishment. It takes the pressure off of everyone. If they ever wanted me to do something like that again, I would RSVP in the positive.

The UNC IFS staff were all really nice and helpful, PLUS I got to see the Oscar Short Animations for free! I enjoyed them all, but I particularly enjoyed, The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. Here it is in full below. WOW, Just as I typed this, it won best short animation. Well done!

If you have a chance to see any of these other films, I highly recommend it. You will not be disappointed. I might do reviews of them this week if you're interested.

This week is going to be tight. I have three paid jobs, as well as casting for my shorts. This coming of the heels of my attempt to quit smoking. I've made it a week so far. God speed to me.

Soon I should be on set with my fellow filmmakers shooting two live action projects. I've been looking forward to this for a while. Hopefully, we can finally light this candle instead of just talking about it.

Anyway, thats about it for now. New opportunities every day.

Below is a cool video, for those of you who don't like reading blogs. Can you name all of the films represented here?
