The Cat With Hands (2001) Dir. Robert Morgan
This film is wonderful for its imagination and creativity. It’s look and style evoke the classic days of Hammer Studios and Amicus Productions. It feels like a Gothic fairy tale where in the monster is so unusual and well conceived that you’ll want to watch it again after it’s over.
Two workman approach a water well when one of them tells the story about a creature that lived in the well. It was a cat with hands.
The Cat with Hands use of stop motion animation gives the story sequence an added dream quality that makes the film all the more unsettling. In short, this one has everything.
